Most shopping cart solutions are based on physical products, rendering them almost useless for the majority of entrepreneurs trying to sell files online. However, we have created a faster, simpler digital download shopping cart called BitBuffet that can be used with any and all web software. It doesn’t matter if you are using WordPress, Blogger, Joomla!, Drupal, or even MySpace! BitBuffet.com has the ability to generate simple, non-javascript HTML code for linking to your file sales as simple links for maximum compatibility.
We offer the ability to integrate with PayPal’s built in shopping cart, so your user experience is 100% seamless and painless for your customers. All you need to do to get set up is to sign up for a BitBuffet account and upload your files to our server. Ugh, I’ve been there. I’ve got the file in hand and I’ve spent weeks crafting it. I think I’ve found an audience who will appreciate the value it creates for them and, more importantly, I think they’d pay for it. But, the problem is, how do I deliver this file immediately after payment? I mean, I could have delivered it by hand with an email for each customer, but what a pain! I didn’t have a budget set aside to pay a programmer to do it for me, so it looks like I need some sort of solution.
Now, in my case, I had a little programming knowledge, so I figured I’d create my own solution. Not as easy as it sounds! But after several weeks of non-stop development, I finally had a working version. It was simple: a payment gets made to PayPal, PayPal sends an IPN with all the customers info to my server, and my server tosses out a custom email with a link to download the file in question!
But, chances are you don’t have the time or experience to build a web application like that in your spare time. So, instead of making you do it yourself, I’m doing it for you! I reworked my application and made it accessible for the public at BitBuffet.com! It is a simple way to sell files using the industry standard PayPal.
So, curious about what you need to do to get setup and selling with BitBuffet? Let’s go over this step by step:
- Sign-up for a free trial at BitBuffet or use the coupon yaybitbuffet.
- Follow the on-screen directions to setup your PayPal account to notify BitBuffet upon sales.
- Upload your file and set a price.
- Copy the button code to your website.
- Profit!
Now, you can also reach customer support for BitBuffet anytime you like at 1-888-256-7365. Chances are you’ll be talking to me, Bryan, the founder. I take care of my customers and I hope you have great success selling your files online!
